Generally, the heat preservation time can be calculated as 1 hour / 25 mm. When beryllium bronze is treated by solution heating in air or oxidizing atmosphere, oxide film will form on its surface. In order to avoid oxidation, it should be heated in vacuum furnace or ammonia decomposition, inert gas, reducing atmosphere (such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, etc.), so as to obtain bright heat treatment effect. In addition, it is necessary to shorten the transfer time (when quenching water) as much as possible, otherwise the mechanical properties after aging will be affected. Thin material shall not exceed 3 seconds, and general parts shall not exceed 5 seconds. Generally, water is used as quenching medium (no heating requirements). Of course, oil can also be used for parts with complex shapes to avoid deformation.
